Buying, or selling?

Two different jobs, and we do both. Pick your side and we will take you to the right place.

I want to buy

Plant, machinery, commercial vehicles, agricultural and business assets, sold to trade buyers, dealers and exporters.

  • Bid online from anywhere, UK or overseas
  • Trade-only sales, so you are bidding against other businesses
  • Timed sales with published end times for every lot

I want to sell

Owners, traders and dealers, and the administrators, receivers and insolvency practitioners handling a closure. One machine or a whole site.

  • Your stock stays on your own site until it is sold and paid for
  • You are paid before anything is collected
  • UK and overseas trade buyers bid online for your lots

How buying at auction works

Our sales are timed and online, so you can bid from anywhere. Three things to know before your first sale.

Register, then do your homework

Registering to bid may need approval and identification, so do it in advance. Then read the lot description and photographs carefully before you bid.

Bid to a number you set first

Lots close at published times, a few seconds apart. A bid in a lot's last ten minutes extends that lot by ten minutes, so nobody wins on the buzzer. Set your maximum and the platform holds it for you.

Pay, then collect

Win a lot and we invoice you, payable by bank transfer. Once the payment clears you collect from the seller's premises, by appointment. Collection and transport are yours to arrange.

Why sell with UAG

Your stock never leaves your site until it sells

Lots are listed where they stand, from your own details and photographs, so nothing has to move before it is sold. Online bidding puts them in front of trade buyers across the UK and overseas, and you are paid before anything is collected.

  • Nothing has to move

Lots remain on your premises for the whole sale, listed from your own details and photographs. We do not require assets to be transported to an auction site.

  • Paid before collection

Payment reaches you before a lot is released, not weeks after it has gone, and collection is only authorised once it has.

  • UK-wide and overseas reach

Online bidding means a trade buyer anywhere can compete for your lots, from across the UK and overseas.

Liquidation and administration

Asset disposal for administrators and receivers

We sell plant, vehicles and equipment for administrators, receivers and insolvency practitioners. Sales run online and reach trade buyers, dealers and exporters, the assets stay at the company's premises until they are sold and paid for, and you get a settlement record lot by lot.

  • Lot-by-lot reporting

What each asset made, what was invoiced and what was paid, so the schedule reconciles line by line.

  • A record of how the market was tested

The marketing record and the bidding activity each lot attracted. A properly marketed auction is strong supporting evidence, though no sale route is a legal guarantee on its own.

  • A valuation for the file if you need one

An independent professional valuation can be arranged alongside the achieved figures.

Guides for buyers and sellers

We write up the questions we get asked most. How to read a machine from a listing, what happens to assets in an administration, how to get a lot collected, and what a winning bid adds up to once everything is counted.
